I've been involved with Internet marketing since 1995, even invented some of it, and I still don't understand why people spend their money on non-contextual advertising. They still don't understand that the Internet is a pull medium, unlike the old media such as television and radio, which are push.

Non-contextual, push, in your face advertising on the Internet only irritates.

No criticism intended toward our forum admins. Might as well accept the additional revenues.

Well, maybe it was contextual.

We're in my professional area now and I could become really, really boring. Bret is right - advertisers on the Internet know *everything* about you. I think it was Larry Ellison who said a few years ago, "Privacy? Forget privacy. You have no privacy." (or maybe it was Yoda).

When I access the site from Canada, I see Canadian ads. When in China, I actually see ads in Chinese. Go figure.

We've tried to weed out the really off-base ads, obviously we missed this one.... we'll try to do better
