I'm familiar with this car and it's owner. He's a true gentleman and the car is very nice. Weve spent many hours visiting with each other at local events over the past few years while our cars were displayed side by side. I've been wondering why I haven't seen them at our recent local shows....disappointed to learn he's decided to part with it.

Remember the first time you saw a 911? For me it was the 1963 issue of Road & Track highlighting the Frankfurt Auto Show & “THE NEW PORSCHE SIX CYLINDER 2+2” w/ the model designation 901, 901?, well that’s another story. Jump ahead to 1967 & the Targa was born having only 718 produced. To own one is rare and to find one that’s been in the Same Family since purchased NEW, basically a One-Owner is even rarer yet. Now, what if that Targa was a Numbers Matching example in #2+* Condition? Hard to top that combo for provenance, desirability & collectability, OK maybe a #1, but would/could you drive it? *Sports Car Market (May 2013, p.110) rated it a #2+ in their review of the 2/13 BOHNAMS' auction. SCM defines a #2 as “very good, club concours, some small flaws”.

HISTORY
This is a single family car from new. Owner’s late father from Allentown, PA took delivery on November 15, 1967 from Nick Ciliberti Motors, Reading, PA (see Window Sticker) & was acquired by son in 1978. A ground- up “Sympathetic” restoration was done in two stages-2005 and 2008 as delineated below. Awarded First Place for 1960 to 1969 vehicles at 2010 Fall Festival Vintage Auto Show, Port St. Lucie, FL. BONHAMS valued it at $80,000 to $100,000 at its Feb. auction this year in Boca Raton, FL where the owner elected not to sell. Auction page link is on my site.

Any body catch the door sills are installed backwards. the angle side goes toward the door hinge. these go the other way. Chris

How about the later, wrong door handle rubbers?

How about many more details like paint on the catch of the rear lid etc? Looks like this one was painted and assembled by someone who has no clue....
