    Hi,

No, it's not a Jag cap, this is the proper cap for marelli - porsche twin plug dizzy.

It might be a repop, as these ones have been redone by at least 2 different producers. Check eleven parts site to compare.

You can buy them new for about 150$ - 200$ each (cap and finger)

    Where does it come from?

For me, they look right! And might be worth using them on a twin pluged engine!

If they are original NOS, they are worth an arm plus a kiddney, and maybe a nut...

As previously stated by Olivier - it's not a Jaguar cap.

There are quite a few (very obvious) differences between the original twin-plug Porsche-fitment caps & the Jaguar 12 cylinder Marelli caps - the easiest to point out is that on an original Porsche cap the 2 coil 'posts' are the sale height whereas on a Jag cap they're different heights.

The inside of the cap is totally different too.

Armando (914/6GT) describes very well the differences on his site.

The easyiest way to tell the difference for me is when you look inside the cap, you can see a brass "disc". This is where the carbon on the rotor makes the contact. On the Jag cap, this contact is made another way, and you can't see this brass disc...

It's the replica cap and rotor for the Marelli twin plug. Injection molded plastic.

The Jag cap has a surface gap, no offset carbon brush on the rotor. The offset carbon brush generates excessive carbon dust that leads to crossfire issues.

It is why Bosch created their twinplug cap with no carbon at all. It's all surface gap.

Here is the rotor I make for the Jag cap.
