1965? Engine 902303

I inherited this (spare) engine core along with a race car that I bought about a year ago - I do not know much about it, but the number appears to make it a 1965 motor - anyone looking for this specific motor to go with the original car? If so, please PM me. Otherwise, anyone have any idea what this may have come out of or have any further information on it? (Just noticed on exploded picture that it looks like the first "3" is over stamping a "2" - any idea what this is all about?)

in the lower right corner of your photo should be the type & build #'s. The build # should be 2203, so perhaps the worker got a little mixed up.
In the upper left corner there is a date code (2 digit year, and a circle of up to 12 dots) also on other case half. What are the date codes? Also, on the top of the case there should be a pair of 3 digit #'s on a boss; these will match if the case halves are mated; what is this #? I'll check to see who might be interested.
