    Leistritz muffler ID

I just searched through 4 pages of 'Leistritz' and never saw this part #: 901.111.011. Anybody know if this will work on a 72/73 MFI car? If not, what does it work with? Thanks.

The first photo of the muffler didn't show the entire part number, or date code. It is 901.111.011.11 /10 69

Mark, you are correct. I googled the part number and it led me to Stoodard and Sierra Madre and to an OEM muffler for a 914/6

Darn, I stumbled across this muffler and it's new, never used. I was hoping it would work on my 73; or at least clutter my garage for a while.

I think the only difference between 911 and 914-6 is the seem where it rests on the muffler support in the 911. the 914-6 didn't use that type of support so they trimmed that seam. gled

Nope........ A factory 914/6 muffler will not fit a Early 911 with a stack rear valance (license panel)

The deal is a 914/6 muffler's entry pipes measures about 3/4" longer (the flange bends are shallower) pushing the muffler canister into the rear valance.

I had both mufflers in front of me and it blew me away... the flange to the canister is a bigger distance on the 914/6

You can put a 911 factory muffler on a 914/6, but not the other way around.

I tried this with a pretty rare NOS 914/6 Leistritz muffler on my ‘73S about 12 years ago...... No go, no way

Chuck is absolutely correct. His info is all spot on. It will not fit.

If its not too late for you, I just fitted one with the part number 901.011.09/04 to my '72. However the tailpipes stick out 11 inches at the back, looks a bit strange. Not sure if they should be trimmed back or not
