I think the lower one on the door belongs there - window track bolt underneath. The others maybe for rust proofing?

When I was a kid my father always had our cars rust-proofed by Ziebart. They used plugs like those except they were yellow. So probably some form of rust-proofing.

Could possibly be paintless paint repair access holes plugged. Ziebart plugs were completely different from the ones shown here. Pop one of the plugs off and look inside with a flash light...see what's happening...Ziebart is easy to recognize.

I can confirm its maybe later rustproofing.
When I bought my car in '05 it had the same spots and plugs, we since deleted them when redoing the car.

There exist a few other systems then Ziebart, like Dinitrol (their triangular decal was found on the rear window of my car, indicating the car was once rustproofed). http://www.dinitrol.co.uk

Thx guys for the great input... i got some other questions 'bout the car

    - are those the correct seats for a 69er?
    - drivers side inside doorhandle looks strange no? or is this correct?
    - should the antenna be on the driversside (or was the antenna placed by the car dealer)
    - was the vertical oil pressure meter and fuel meter an option? this one is sporting the same meters as an 912

    thx in advance

I can answer a couple of these:

    1) Seats are correct for '69-'71
    2) Drivers side armrest and door handle are correct.
    3) If the antenna is power it would be on the passenger side because it needs more room because of motor and gas filler in the way.
    4) Pictures don't show enough of the car to see if it is an "S" if it is an "S" then guage was standard, if it is a"T" then could have option of "S" trim package which includes guages and wide deco trim.

Maybe plugging up holes where contacts were installed from an old alarm system? Do the upper door plugs line up with the ones above the striker plates? Is there a corresponding hole in the engine cover?
