Thread: 1972 tool kit inventory

    1972 tool kit inventory

I did a search, not much help

My 1972 came with its tool kit. I never really did a "real inventory" in the bag, it always looked like it was all there. Down the line, I even got the bags mixed with another kit, mixed and matched with my '70

Is there a list somewhere of the complete inventory..how to ID the tools that are correct for the kit?

    The bag, clasps or buttons?

All the open end wrenches are stamped Drop Forged Steel Germany
The crescent wrench is stamped Rega 7/16
Screw drivers: Red Handle phillips and a "beveled" straight
    Pliers stamped Hapewe West Germany
Spark Plug tool stamped Klein 21
Trans plug wrench is stamped Klein West Germany
Lug wrench is stamped 19 mm
Alt. pulley wrench (guess its called that) stamped P208

Am I missing anything, or anything should not be there?

    TIA

John A. can confirm, but I think you may not need the crescent wrench. Here's a recent kit he sold, which is - I believe - complete.

you can also refer to your owners manual, check the index in the back of the book for toolkit, page 75 for 72 models (at least the ones I have here) and there is a photo of your toolkit.
most manuals have the photo however there are no photos in the SWB OM.

I have the same crescent (drop forged steel) but it is definitely not part of the kit ... I suspect it was added in some cases by the dealer, having been around for more that 40 years between mine's and dad's garage ...

I suspect it may be your browser. Try cleaning out your cache.
