    Mike,

please forgive the non-sequitur, but the second photo of the open engine case with crank and oil pump is one of the most impressive "automotive' shots I've ever seen. Fit for publication in any Porsche book ever printed. Compliments on superb work............. what a Poster that image would make.

    The car is magnificent.

Just to say thanks for all the support for the project, and the interest from my friends across the water has been great.

Still on a high from the unveiling and the Techno Classica show in Essen, car seemed well received and a perfect end
to the 6 year build. Obviously a big thank you to Gib on this forum for starting me off on the whole project in the first
place, a great guy, a Porsche fanatic and hopefully a good friend.

The story of this 72S is one that most likely will never be repeated or equaled in terms of its final form. From records it was found that Brumos ordered this 72S originally, and it could have been one of those ordered for special customers to modify for competition. But its history was lost until I found the chassis in Albuquerque, NM in 2002 where it had been sitting outside on jack stands for 8 years under a tarp. I moved it along toward its final destiny in the form of a wide bodied RSR prototype with Martini colors. Mike expressed interest in it for his next project in 2007, and the rest is now a very interesting history.

Mike spent the next 6 years turning the car into a detailed recreation of the factory prototype RSR 'mongrel' that began life as a 72 ST. (The original 'mongrel' no longer exists and is believed to have been disposed of by the factory.) His passion to achieve perfection is legend in the UK, and with the help of Neil Bainbridge, whose knowledge of 73 RSRs was invaluable in Mike's quest, the final version has emerged. It will now live forever in someone's collection.

I can't imagine how was to drive one of this in 1973... Congratulations!!

I've invested more than one hour (and two ) at Essen trying to memorize all of the single details of this wonderful build.

    Bravo!
