Not using side window lower chrome trim?

Anybody know how to do this like the yellow 911R below? There is a rubber gasket that mounts to the chrome trim piece and goes against the window. Does that get mounted straight to the door? I don't want the window rattling around.

    Thanks

There is a felt strip between the window and the door.
