WTB: Blaupunkt Frankfurt US Series X Serial Number X728369

Now, I know this seems like a long shot. I bought my '66 coupe with a newer radio in it and managed to buy an original Blaupunkt Frankfurt Series X which was, I thought period to the car. Then I got the COA from Porsche and it lists the radio as Factory fitted and provides the serial number as X728369. SO the one I bought is not the right number - panic attack - my car will not be matching numbers now! I even managed to get the radio paperwork from the PO and it has the serial number on it...

So: if anyone out there has a stash of Blaupunkt Frankfurt US Series X radios, could they go through them to see if they have serial number X728369?

I am open to buy or trade for the one I bought which has recently been serviced.

Here's hoping (I know it is a long shot)...

    Thanks for reading...

    Stephen

Did you ask the PO what happened to the radio?
Your search is a loooooong shot my friend.

Wow! Just finding the correct Blaupunkt Series of the appropriate year and style would be a major accomplishment on these early cars.

Why not I guess, you never know..

    Mike, I know...
Kent, the PO was not the one who changed models in the 70s unfortunately...
Bill: just thought I'd ask... not really expecting to find it but, as you say, you never know!!!

Well, it certainly looks like it: though the fascia panel is different to the one I have and mine also has the separate amplifier... is this for real or what???
