And speaking of Pismo . . .
. . . as seen --- On the Beach . . .
Our airbnb Hostess told me about a 'little car show' --- Sunday mornings, juuuust down the street from where we were staying . . .
. . . near the Orchard Supply parking lot
HAD to check that out . . .
..
A Real Olde Timer . . .
. . . I mean --- this machine is ~century old?
Awesome how it's built . . . + prolly why it's lasted this long. Don't think anything-plastic could survive what this 's seen. Can you imagine where this thing has been + what it's done --- and to still be here?
Kept alive w/ stuff you can get @Orchard Supply, too. I mean, basic tools + common sense = keep this buggy runnin'
Top-down, please

While visiting my son in Boise, Idaho over Christmas, caught this '48 Frazer parked in front of the owner's house.
He aggressively came out to inquire just WTF (sic) I was taking pictures of his car, and when told that I had nothing evil in mind and merely wanted a shot or two for my archive & possible future posting, he lightened up and told me the story behind it.
His father, the original buyer/ owner since new, kept it nice and rebuilt the motor twice, but when he died the current owner decided to keep it as his commuter vehicle and is convinced he cannot find a better, more reliable and economical car to drive around town on a daily basis……..he now parks it outside and the original paint is starting to show its age.

" slavish adherence to originality wasn't for me, because the car wasn't as good as it could be."
Rob Dickinson's response when asked what motivated him to build Singers
A rare sight at the local Home Depot parking lot this weekend . . .

. . . what a kick!

Seeing something like this always makes me think of 'retained value'
After the '36 mo/36k mi' are past and the warranties expire . . .
. . . when the car needs paint, and upholstery, an engine re-build --- maybe some trim parts replaced . . .
. . . when the odo's turned over --- + over + over + over . . . .
. . . long after tastes have changed, and new regulations 've taken effect --- and the World has just . . . . . . . moved on . . .
. . . what do you really have?
I'm sure that there are people who 'collect' cars like this . . .
. . . but would it be for their dollar value? . . .
. . . or something else?
