Tend to agree. I've never seen nor heard of the one year only 69 grill in aluminum and never heard of an original 69S with the aluminum valance. Now the early 70 proto liteweight (actually a 69 in many details) might have had some special alum bits like bumpers. It had the three bar lid and grill but, I think the wherabouts of the car (and the VIN) is unknown and no details at least that I've read concerning the material of the lid.
