In addition to its desirable factory specifications, this authentically restored example of the performance-geared 911 2.0 S benefits from the attention of one of the nation’s leading Porsche authorities, a 30-year veteran of Porsche Club events who has devoted approximately 800 hours of his time to the quality control and authenticity of this car.

According to a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, this 911 2.0 S completed assembly on July 10, 1969, optioned with tinted glass, antenna, Michelin tires, and special paintwork in Metallic Dark Red, the color still worn by the car today.

This 911 2.0 S was purchased in California in 2007 by Martin Jackier of Longmont, Colorado, who retained Rallye Coachworks of nearby Englewood to perform the bare- metal body repairs and paintwork of the car. Reassembly of the components began in early 2010, until Mr. Jackier decided to sell the Porsche later that year.

The opportunity to acquire the strong foundation for a quality 911 2.0 S restoration was immediately recognized by the consignor, a marque authority who manages his own Porsche consulting business and has presented multiple Best in Show award winners at PCA exhibitions, beginning in 1982. After purchasing the 911 2.0 S, the connoisseur commissioned some of Colorado’s finest Porsche experts to complete the comprehensive factory-authentic restoration.

Jim McMillan of Carquip in Boulder, Colorado, was retained to completely rebuild the original matching-numbers engine and transmission, and Dave Brown, also in Boulder, reupholstered the interior using only factory-correct materials and colors. Harvey Weidman’s Wheels, one of the top names in Porsche wheel restoration, restored the Fuchs alloy wheels, while North Hollywood Speedometer refurbished the instruments.

Following the restoration of the individual components and systems, the car was reassembled by Storz Garage and also Pat Moyle, who boast a combined 75 years of Porsche experience. Paramount to the quality of the entire project was the watchful eye of the consignor, who spent more than $110,000 on the project and personally supervised the finishing of all components and hardware.

Completed in January 2013, the restoration resulted in an astoundingly original presentation that will surely provide strong competition at discriminating concours d’elegance and PCA events.

Presented with a full tool kit, jack, and owners’ manuals, this 911 2.0 S is also accompanied by a file of restoration invoices, research documents and notes, the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and approximately 200 photos of the restoration process. It is a masterfully restored, matching-numbers example that offers characteristic early 911 performance and should bring concours acclaim.
