WTB: 1973 Carrera RS lightweight M471, first or second series

Guys, I'm looking for my dream car, a lightweight RS. I know, small chance but where to look and listen if not here.... Any information and leads appreciated. Happy to pay a finder's fee! Not interested in a perfectly restored trailer queen, I want to drive the car!

    Thanks for any help,
    Mike

I know of a few. Are there any colors you would rule out?

Hello froggy: Thank you, I'm looking for an original M471.

Eminence Gris: Absolutely no colors that I would rule out, all information is very much appreciated.

No problem if the car needs any engine work etc.

    Thanks a lot!

It seems the buzz around Porsche prices has caused two of the three cars to be 'held onto a little longer.' Both (in fact all 3 cars I know of) are Touring, not lightweights. PM me if you want any details... these would be 'quiet sales' if & when they happen (and if you can settle for other than a lightweight). I have not seen a lightweight change hands for a while, and I fear the price on the next 'no stories' car will be a bit of a shock.

Based on the last sale of a true M471 that I am personally aware of, and the fact that it was 18 months ago (just before RENNSPORT), my guess would be a real
M471, no stories car with everything still 'there' that makes it a REAL M471....would fetch somewhere around $650k. If not more.
Then again, you do get what you pay for....Hopefully.

Thank you all for your appreciated feedback. I know that they have not really become cheaper in the last few months :-) Of course we all dream about finding the untouched one that the second owner has bought in 1978 for little money and who's more than happy to sell it 35 years later for 10 times the money he has paid back then. Very little chance that something like this will happen.... But what looks expensive today might look pretty ok in 2-3 years and I'm willing to pay for quality.

    Keep the faith,
    Mike

Thanks for the pm's etc. that I have received. So far no M471 has materialized, any help or hints are very appreciated.

    Cheers,
