    Question Auto X Tire Pressures

    Auto X Tire Pressures?

    Long course, NE weather in 2 weeks!, non competitive ( me = fun ) dead stock 73.5

    any suggestions will be welcomed

    I'd start at 28/30 and see what happens.

    It's easier to let air out than to put air in ...

    be sure and check it after first run group too ,pressure will be much higher at temperature. Nitrogen lessens this fluctuation btw. S

    Lower pressures provide better breakaway (also helpful in the rain), higher pressures provide better feel - in general. But recommended tire pressure really depends on the make and model of tire.

    Most street tires like 32-38 psi typically. Marco's suggestion to start at 28/30 is good for the track. In autocross the pressures only rise about 2 pounds in cool weather over a 60-second course, so a starting point of 31/34 may work better for your use. Again it depends on the tire (and the driver to some extent).

    Thanks for the input!

    Lime Rock suggested the cars arrive with 45 and then air down, but if I drive there with that much air ( especially in the front ) my eye balls will not be able to recover in time to any driving.....
