128 versus 128. when close isn't close enough

    Light geeks,

A friend and list member asked me today for contact information on Renee, the supplier of very nice 128 reproductions. His idea was to see if he could get some spare parts for some OEM 128s he has. Too bad, but I'd already checked and the parts aren't interchangeable. They are VERY close, maybe 1mm different when I measured the center to center holes and height and width of the base frame (measurements +/-) In any case they don't fit. How close do they look? I realized I hadn't taken photos, so I did. Thanks to Richard, my good friend who had inadvertently left his NOS 128 here, I still had a specimen. No Richard, honest, it was not on purpose. Here are some pics.
