Anyone know the difference between turn signal switches 69-73

I think my turn signal switch may be bad on my 69 911 E. It will flash turning left for a few seconds then it starts flashing hazards at least on the column.

What is the difference between the 69 to 73 switches? From what I can gather it looks like Porsche added a little switch to the end of the turn signal column for dimming the headlights?

But that is a pure guess, I was thinking if that is the only difference I could just switch out the handles and not use that little switch on the end.

    the 69 part number is 901 613 301 04

I'm having the same issue on my '69 912 and just shelled out $275 for a NOS switch on ebay.

    Then I found this:

Haven't had time to investigate yet but seems like the likely cuplrit.

Thanks for the info. I was going to have my mechanic look at it but I think I will investigate this myself first after reading that thread. I was going to buy a switch too because that is where I thought the problem lay. Looks like I need to investigate the rear tale light.
