Is there a difference between ordering from Stoddard versus the Official Porsche website & PET catalogue. Or are they essentially oneinthesame? Thanks, Cliff

I was not aware that you could order from the PET or the official web site, please explane?

PET is a catalog. One can't order through or from PET. Stoddard uses the same part numbers unless it's an exclusive Stoddard repro part.
BTW: Many of the parts that you buy from Porsche come from Stoddard; especially 356 parts.
Make sense?
I guess I was asking if Stoddard & the official Porsche are two autonomous sources. Sounds like the PET is just a handydandy parts numbers list ,perhaps used by both. Cliff
Porsche transitioned from the printed parts catalogs to the microfiche and then to the PET electronic parts catalog. Each change offered faster updates and greater utility. All of the dealers use PET. Since Stoddard's split into a dealership and parts provider I am not fully aware of it's status. At one time I understood that Chuck sold the business to the Porsche family. It certainly had a strong relationship with the factory. For many years it has been sourcing parts for the restoration of the older models. I would not be surprised if the factory uses Stoddard's as a parts source, but I am sure a lot of parts flow from the factory to Stoddard's as well. I've made a lot of visits to Stoddard's over the years.

Hi! Just to clarify, Stoddard Parts is still a dealer for Porsche factory parts, as well as our own blend of authentic pieces for vintage Porsches. We buy stuff from Porsche, they buy stuff from us—and sometimes we have to buy it back from them!
I'm working on our new website—I'm expecting to be beta testing it in a few week and launch in mid-April.
