    WTB: 1968 T engine

Looking for a '68 T engine, preferably complete. Needing a rebuild is ok. Thanks...

Would a 68 T motor come with a smog pump? I thought 68 Ts were RoW only.

Technically it was just a "911" and the U.S.-delivered cars had smog pumps. The '68 911S was RoW.

I believe the T and Normal were different motors. The T had a 109 hp and no smog pump because it was a RoW production. The normal shared the same engine with the L and was rated at 130 hp and both were equipped with the smog pump.

Per the information I have been able to find off vin verification it was an RoW vehicle. I am not aware of the differences of a T vs Normale engine(s) so any and all info is welcomed.

I think Frank is correct, 911T didn't make it directly to the US In 1968, just the 912, 911 Normal and 911L.

I believe the 911T ROW would have the non-counterweighted crank, milder cams, no pulley on the drivers side chain box for air pump, weber 40IDT carbs and no vacuum retard distributor. From the engine number you posted, you are looking for an aluminum engine, which is good and bad. Aluminum cases are good but hard to find and expensive.

You might check this thread and see if someone has your engine

Sorry, I assumed Doug had a U.S. car until I saw the VIN and engine#. 901/3 is in fact RoW and as Casey said, difficult to come by. The complete motor I have is a 901/14.
    I'll keep digging.
