    FS: 1963 356B T6 1600 Super Reutter Cabriolet

    1963 Porsche 1600 Super Cabriolet
    Type: T6 Reutter Cabriolet
    VIN: 158637
    Eng: KD*P*63898* 616/1
    Trans: 66009 (741/2A)
    Ext: Ruby Red 6202
    Int: Black
    37401 miles

According to Porsche AG chassis number 158637 was completed on 7/11/1963. It is 1 of 931 Cabriolets built in 1963 and is the 63rd from the last T6 B Cabriolet made. Of the 931 B T6 Cabriolets built factory records do not break down how many of each were 1600 1600S and 1600 Super 90’s. A Porsche Certificate of Authority is provided with the car.

    Highlights:
The body was restored in 1987 and was refinished in its original Ruby Red Color as reflected by on the COA. The paint for its age shows very well and the body lines are nice and straight. The floorpan, trunk, and battery box are solid and show well. The front seat covers and door panel trim have been replaced in leather. The car exhibits original rear seating and side panels, the original radio and steering wheel and correct square weave carpeting. The canvass top and rear window shows as new.

    Mechanical Highlights and driving impressions:
This car is a very strong running driver and is ready to be enjoyed! It has a non matching numbers rebuilt 1600 Normal engine with Webers that was installed in 2009 at 35593 miles. Based on documentation the original engine was lost to a #3 connecting rod failure. The engine starts right up every time its asked and without smoke and makes power like a super 90. The car responds well on the road, its quick and fun to drive casually or at an aggressive pace. The car retains its numbers matching original gearbox which operates beautifully and can be upshifted and downshifted spiritedly without grinding or double clutching. It’s one of the best shifting ones I’ve experienced.
The documentation also supports recent clutch, fuel pump, starter, full tune up, new brake linings, new wheel cylinders, rebuilt front end, new battery, gas tank cleaned and restored, new fuse box, penn grade oil service and swepco gearbox service. This car is reliable road ready and can be immediately enjoyed as is and for years to come without expensive restoration costs. Its an excellent investment for someone looking to get into a turn key open cockpit 356 for under 100K. This beautiful cabriolet is value priced at $90000.
