    Fuchs wheel info needed

I bought my 1969 911S in 1974, and the original wheels were long gone, replaced by chrome rims. The car has been in storage for 36 years, and last I checked, the Porsche Fairies had not restored the wheels to the original Fuchs.
Searched the forum, but could not find much info. I guess I am looking for the 15X6 "Deep Sixes", does anybody have the specific P/N that I should be looking for? I understand that these wheels only came on the '69 and "70 "S"cars, so I pretty much decided that I am not going to find a set of date matching late '68 early '69 wheels. I believe my car was a Feb. or March '69 car, as it was sold in Hollywood in early May.
Also, if I can find a set of 15X7 for the back, what P/N should I be looking for? I have seen some but they seem to have too much offset. So what exactly am I looking for here. Any clearance problems?
If anyone out there has a set of these wheels, and wants them to go back on a 69S like they were intended to be on, and not some lowered VW Bus, please PM me.

My '71 targa came with deep 6's as original equipment delivered 11/70.

I did the same for a client's '69S last Fall. Be patient. It took me over 3 months but I was able to find the correct date match wheels.

In your case, if the car was built in March, 1/69, 2/69 or 3/69 would be "date matching."

This link has a quick list of early Fuchs p/n's, http://cprclassic.com/reference/fuchsalloys.html. I think you're looking for 901.361.012.06.

Harvey Weidman is the guy to see about sourcing and or restoring some wheels. Not cheap or fast but does fantastic work but it sounds like time might not be an issue in this case.

I placed a wanted add here for wheels for my 69E and had them shipped straight to Harvey for restoration. Almost too nice to put on the car!

If you want 7s your best bet is 7Rs which have the extra inch on the inside but look like a deep 6 from the outside. Real 7Rs are crazy expensive but again Harvey can build you some from deep 6 cores or there some new replicas available. You will need some spacers to get them to work properly without rubbing unless you have flares.

You will also see chat about deep 6s with and without "hearts". The early wheels which suit your car have "hearts" which are really just a small bump near the valve stem.

Thanks to everyone for the replied. I have talked to Harvey about a set, and told him I have a year before I may need some wheels. Should I insist on 1-69 2-69 3-69 date code. How important is that?

Importance depends on the COA from Porsche. If the rim type does not match the COA, then the date code will not matter.

That would be true if Porsche had any other 15 X 6" wheel made in that timeframe. AFAIK, they did not.

    Edit:
On the other hand if the CoA says steel wheels, you're correct...
