1968 Porsche 911 L Soft Window Targa Irish Green (6806) with Black Leatherette interior. Matching Chassis (number 11860034) and engine (number 3080086). Certificate of Authenticity on hand which indicates that the Car was built 8.9.1967 and is the 34th example produced which makes this a very early production 911 L Soft Window. The COA also shows that the car was fitted new with Ventilated Chrome Wheels and Phoenix Tires. It was purchased new in Germany as a US model and most of the cars life was spent in California where it was purchased by a Porsche Collector 3 years ago with a dry non-rusty body only needing mechanical/interior refreshing. The whole car was completely restored with every system being gone thru (including total replacement of all soft window components) on the car to bring it to the current spectacular condition. There are receipts for all the work including the engine dyno run after the engine was rebuilt.

In a wonderfully restored condition this car would make a great addition to a Porsche collection or just as a great special car. The Soft Window Option really creates the feeling of open air motoring making this car a real joy to drive. Normally 1968 US Spec 911 L cars are equipped with side markers, we have new markers, but chose not to install them for aesthetic reasons, they can easily be put on. Also the sunvisors are currently not installed. We have not found a number on the tranny case. The 911 L was a one year only model for Porsche and many people consider it a detuned "S".

Car is located in the northwestern corner of Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can contact me thru ebay or call 860-350-1140. I have a page with many highly detailed photos of the car, go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending. If you are seriously interested I strongly urge you to take the time and study these photos. Buyer pays shipping. International buyers welcome, I can help set up shipping to any part of the world. Thank you for looking at my listing.

Amazing how the market has changed. I purchased my 68L less than three years ago and I couldn't afford to buy it today. I remember seeing at least half a dozen 68 Targas for sale around the same time as mine, all in great to excellent condition, and all less than $25K. Pretty remarkable how the market has gone through the stratosphere on these cars.

Funny, I had a '68 S SWT up for sale here just about 2 years ago and got flak for asking $23.5K. (No, I will not name names.)

There is a red '67 SWT normale that will be for sale a couple weeks from now in Germany. This may be an opportunity to bring one "back."

Looks an aweful lot like a euro spec car to me. No S gauges (would be standard on a US spec L), no wide rocker decos, no 'us spec' rubber switches in the dash (004 has em, so 034 should definitely have em too, I'd say).

    Beautiful car other than that.

no one will ever find the holes in the fender for those side marker reflectors because they were never there. Chris

I don't think so. This car is on the very eastern side of Connecticut on the NY border. Carini is over toward Hartford.
