    Driving in the rain

I wonder how many of us think about driving in the rain. After all the body prep, rust proofing, sealing and so on, how willing are we to take the early 911's car out in the rain?

I don't give it another thought. Drove to Bergrennen in WV last year, eight hours in a driving rainstorm

I'm ok with rain, just not snow and salt.

If you were at the Glen Vintage event last September you sure drove in the rain. As the day unfolded it started coming down sideways. The pic below was at the gate Saturday morning. If I only knew what was coming I would'a stayed in bed. Quite a weekend. I'll do a full write up in my ongoing thread of the car.

Did the early 911's come with a warning to not drive them in the rain

The cars did not. Some of the drivers should have though. Ask owners of SSWB cars.

I never hesitate. Can't afford to in Seattle. SWB driver, checking in.

I've never hesitated driving a Porsche in the rain. It rains it Germany so I figured they were built to handle it...

Here in Belgium is quite impossible not to drive in the rain from time to time (often, actually) ... have modern tires (P6000) never got a problem. Better to have it careful washed afterwards to remove dirt, mud or murky water anyhow ...

It would be my luck that I'd spring a leak like the Tanner Foust in (American) Top Gear while driving a NEW Range Rover.
