Don't know any info on the sale, but here is a link to the Auctions America site for a few photos.

I found this car mid-auction. I know it sold for around 51k.

I just spoke with the #2 bidder. Car went for $51k plus buyer's premium. He said it was a very original car but was extremely tired. He went there pledging not to go above $45k and dropped out at $50.5k. It was just him and a German telephone bidder from $40k up.

Anyone know how early VIN was?

    I don't I was told it was a 1965 VIN but that's all I know.

It might have been built in '65 as a '66 MY car, but it's pretty clearly a later '66 car - Decklid gives that away. Webers, not Solexes, etc.

If you click the site link above, it now says 1966, so there you go...apparently even '66 cars are getting premium prices now.
