    Price Lowered

OK, This is a knowledgeable group and I've learned that if something doesn't sell quickly here then it might be perceived as priced too high. There's some small sample statistic validity there that maybe Nate Silver could explain, but the correct thing for me to do is to lower the price. So, price lowered to

    $1,350 + shipping

    Thanks,
    John

Marek now makes very accurate reproductions of these lenes. $150 each. You re chrome your box's and you are done. The ones you are selling are for the show car only driven on the lawn. I have pair of NOS rear SWB lights as well but not for sale as yet. You never know when you will come across a 67 911S.Good luck Chris

    Hi Chris...

Yes, I'm aware of Marek's lenses and I have some on order as I have five sets of housings at the platers right now. I am a little concerned about availability of the lenses - we shall see.

    Keeping it NOS

At the suggestion of a fellow enthusiast here I have replaced the dry-rotted seal on the left light. Of course, as it's hard to escape the grasp of OCD, I replaced it with a NOS one:

I've done some quick calculations on this. Here is the cost breakdown to produce a correct set of SWB corner lights using what appear to be the high quality reproduction lenses currently available:

    • Lenses: $600
    • Housings: $400 (maybe less, maybe more)
    • Seals: $70
    • Bulbs: $20
    • Bulb holders: $160
    • Plating $300 (maybe less, maybe more)
    • Assembly: $300 (zero if you DIY)

    --------------
    Total: $1,850

That's for a set of four. So $925 to do two. Makes me think that $1,250 for actual NOS ones is a fair price.

John your price is more than fair as I recently was in the market for nos euro swb lamps and paid way more than you are asking.

    Good luck with the sale.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

+1 on that. I had a set of NOS euro front swb units that sold within a day for almost twice your asking price. That was without even advertizing...! GLWS,
