strange eBay auction for '74 Carrera

Does anyone have a good explanation for this auction currently going on at eBay?
auction #330895423540: 1974 Porsche Carrera 2.7 Euro Spec

It seems that the current bid over the last few days is fluctuating wildly, so a trip to the bid history page leads me to the cancellation list (pasted below). Is this a new type of scam?

This is the same car that was SOLD out of 2Shores International Inc dealer out of Lake Mills Wisconsin in front of is house, it SOLD last year asking price was $125K USD with 93K plus miles. So this looks suspicious.

This looks like a glitch in eBay to me -- bids made on other cars were made either simultaneously on this car or instead on this car. When the problem was realized, the bids were likely cancelled by eBay with the attendant explanation being "1974 Porsche Carrera 2.7 Euro spec" which was likely not the car originally bid on. That is my opinion based on being a computer professional for many years.

Yes I believe this quite the scam going on here. I had emailed this supposed seller before the bidding started looking suspect and this is the response I received:

    Hi,
I appreciate your interest in my '74 Porsche Carrera 2.7 Euro Spec. This particular car is fully numbers matching, very original '74 Carrera 2.7 euro spec. I have a clear title in my name. Please find a link to additional photos bellow my message. My asking price is $35,000. I am currently away for a few days, but I will be back home next week. I can arrange shipping to your location when I return. For payment I accept bank wire transfer. Alternately we can close this deal using ebay's vehicle purchase protection. Ebay will hold your payment until you receive the vehicle from the shipper or until you inspect it and agree to buy it. Either way, let me know which way is better for you. If we close this deal I will email you a scan of the title before wiring the payment. Let me know if you agree with my terms.

    Thanks,
    *Ryan

He claims to have called me today. I received the exact same message but no reply why the car has been taken of EBAY. There is a lot of scam all of the sudden, also in the parts section...
