My 68S, produced in november 67, has the same lid.

I think it's correct after september 67.

The lid is made with steel.

This is the lid that came with a 3 bar grill -note the cutoff mounting tabs. Didn't early 68's, wheich used the early grill, also use the early decklid?

You may be correct as I do not know the change over date but what I do know is my 68S with a build date of 10/31/67 has the earlier split grill lid.

Now my first 68S ( VIN 11800004) has of course the split grill lid

My second 68S ( production date 13/11/1967 as you can read inside the door's panels) has the 68-69 lid.
