WTB: 73 S Fender Oil Cooler

My 73S motor is out of the car for rebuild. I am in need of correct front fender oil cooler, hard lines, brackets, etc. It is an unmolested matching numbers car that does not appear to have ever had the front oil cooler or hardlines installed? Anyone have these parts or recommendation as to where to purchase?

    Thanks,
    Brent Smith

Original 73S trombone coolers are the same as those used on the RS and bring in the $1000-1500 range for the trombone itself.

Alan at Canford Classics is reproducing them and sells them for substantially less. They are VERY good reproductions.

The lines should be available new through the dealer networks, the bracket for the thermostat is a simple piece that should be easy to duplicate (I have a few I made for my own stock), but the thermostat, ferrule, and coupling nut are a little tougher to source.

    Good luck.

If you are worried about originality, you should note that the 73 thermostat and location and are unique to 73.

I have one if you are not worried about a couple dents in it.It will not affect performance. They are not restrictive.

I can't believe the values placed on these extremely ineffecient tubes. My mechanic used to hang them off the rafters. Anybody who actually drives their car in normal American temperatures, wouldn't be caught dead with one.
