    Trans carrier photo please

I have purchased a 911 style 901 trans carrier for my 912 due to the factory rear sway bar I installed being too close to the 912 style carrier and to eliminated shifter bounce caused by the soft rubber blocks on the 912 carrier. Does anyone have a photo showing where the large zinc plated washers go when installing. It came to me without the washers and I ordered them since the PET drawing shows them but where do they go. On top of the rubber knobs/bushings between chassis and carrier? I'm lost with this since my car didn't have the same carrier to disassemble and then reassemble.

Above and below, you need four washers. The convex face faces toward the rubber.

Thanks. That's what I thought, I just wasn't sure if the convex was up or down.

I love it. It took a 912 owner to respond.

Edit: Oops, I meant nothing by this, it was just an observation. No pooping in the other cats sand box, really.

These guys are brutal. When I drop a 2.2 to complete my 911 clone maybe they'll let me in to their circle. Been trying for three months to join RGRUPPE. The web site says they'll get back to me upon further review. That hasn't happened and I even show up in La Canada. Everyone's actually been cool there.

    Bob,
I have found that you need to change the rear (engine) mount to the early style (like a 911) when you change the front (trans). They work together and mismatching them doesn't work as well in my experience.
Unless you have a 911 motor already then disregard.....

I haven't heard that before. My issue is the factory 911 rear sway bar is 1/4" from the 912 style carrier. I have been told by many to switch over to the 911 carrier and I would then also experience a more solid shifter with no bouncing due to the soft 912 style with soft rubber blocks. My sway bar has been shimmed at the bushes to get under my existing carrier. I have read many posts on the 912Registry on switching the carrier for a more solid and better performing shift lever with no mentioning of the engine mount but I will now ask. Thanks

Picture #1 shows how close the bar is to the carrier even though the bar is shimmed at the bushings so the bar can sit lower as it crosses over and under the transmission
Picture #2 shows the aluminum shims I fabricated to enable the bar to mount to the console bushings

Everything works and performs but the added shims make the bar a bit too close to the ground at the console bushings since I am a tad bit lower than Euro ride height.

I'll comment on the 912 site since it only applies to 912s.
