    Recovering a 380mm Steering Wheel

Looking for recommendations for a recover on a 380mm steering wheel for my '71 Targa. I am familiar with Tony's work at Autobahn but has anyone used: Dallas Custom Steering Wheels or Craft Customs both are in Texas? I have seen positive comments on both, reply's greatly appreciated!

Dallas does great work. Very professional, great turn around and excellent communications. After he is finished he has always sent me a series of detailed dig pics prior to shipping.

Dallas did mine last month. Very happy with the outcome.

For my 380mm wheel I was quoted $319 plus $18 for shipping back to me. Includes premium leather and stitching per original (cross stitching and baseball stitching on the spokes). Mine will be 3" diameter if you want RSR thickness 1/8" larger then add $50 for extra padding.

Thanks Mike. I have a spare Ebonite wheel I am thinking of sending to them. That should be a good starting point for a leather covered wheel...right?

What result are looking for? The factory 380 mm leather covered wheels had a rubber covering over the rim of the wheel. The ebonite (hard plastic) rims were the basis used to create the RSR 914/6 GT wheel.
