    Park brake switch

I am trying to access the park brake switch in the handle in the center console (on a 73).

I have done some searches but have not found a good refernce on how to diassemble the park brake handle. I have found one or two that say it is a RPITA but before I go too far down the path I owuld like to learn from other experience on how best to tackle it.

Anybody have any references or advice they can provide?

    Thanks

Are you trying to replace the switch or just adjust it?

I thought I might need to replace it or adjust it but I have since read that you can adjust it without removing it - although I am not sure how ... I have determined that it was the m/c switch. It needed removed and execised and is now working properly - flashing light gone.

However, since looking at it I am interested in how the hand brake lever comes out as it was not obvious. But I don't plan to pursue it - just curious for future reference.

Look on the passenger side of the hand brake assembly towards the rear of the housing, you'll see a slotted screw next to a plastic pin that moves in a slot. That is the adjustment range, loosen the screw and move in the slot for adjustment.
