    Bosch Voltage Regulators

I have been looking for an Early Bosch Voltage Regulator 901.603.206.01. - 14 volt 35A

Sierra madre collection and Stoddard both list but Porsche in the UK say thay are NLA.

I have tried a Bosch Dealer with the original Bosch Part Number I found on the Bosch Automotive Tradition Website which is 0 190 600 005.

According to my local dealer this number doesn't work.

Dose anyone know a Bosch Part Number that may be better?

    Chris,

Originals are rare as hen's teeth, are we talking about the square one or the 1970s?

    Chris,

Good, you can put it on the parcel shelf away from the engine heat. Heat is the enemy of electrical components.

These days, even when you buy a "Bosch" you get a can like the "modern" one shown, which bears no markings of any kind. Inside the housing there is a solid-state VR chip embedded in potting compound, the housing is really there for show.

Can you access parts made by "Transpo" in UK? Your local auto electric stockist probably can. The Transpo IB305 is the same physically as the Bosch part number. The photos you see of the Bosch with a big IC on the bottom, well, that's an old photo of the Spanish-made one I think-- the one you actually get has the IC inside -- it has a "set-point" of 14.4 volts and regulates in the B-circuit.

Alternatively, you could get an adjustable IB301A, this has a little trim pot embedded in the epoxy that you can tune to set the voltage at the battery precisely. I have one on my Race car, works great.

You can try these guys, I think this where I bought a couple:

Hope this helps, the number I would use is 901 603 206 02, this interchanges to 0 192 062 007 according to Bosch. If you plug that 0 192 number in you get a bunch of hits, that's what you want.

    Good luck!
