Does this look like a Christophorus on my dash?

See the remains of something to the left of the light switch on the dash of (unrestored) '065 back in February of 2005? I have always thought that this was a St. Christopher medal, put there when the car was picked up at the factory.

Does anyone have one like it in their car?

My relatives on the Italian side of my family had these on the dash boards of their Buicks and Caddys sometimes a Blessed Mother statuette on the dash top too back in the day. No kidding . I do not think the factory put them there on 911s. I did have a 356 that had a calendar coin double face taped on the dash so maybe that is what you see in that picture.

It's a Roman Catholic thing, our family cars were usually adorned with this and similiar relics when I grew up in the 60's here in Ireland. And yes, we did have the stick on 3" statuette on the dashboard of many of our cars.

In the words of Cool Hand Luke - I don't care if it rains or freezes...long as I have my plastic Jesus ridin' on the dashboard of my car!
