A Great Loss - Pete "Liverman" Brittingham

The Porsche community lost one of the most wonderful guys I've met in my years tinkering with these cars. Peter Brittingham, known by many as Liverman for his race team and dedication to the cause of organ donation, passed away this week. Anybody who knew Pete will tell you how generous he was with both his time and his parts stash. They'll also tell you he could have you in stitches with his sharp sense of humor. I always looked forward to my visits with Pete, and whether we chatted about the frog green 911 he was running or raising kids, the talk was always positive, enlightening and fun. What a great guy. He will be missed dearly by the Porsche community, and by Adam and I.

Pete was a terrific guy. I haven't seen him in a few years and I knew he was on again/off again with his battle. He was truly the poster boy for what it means to fight illness with a courageous spirit. May he be in heaven praising God!

BTW: Matt, that is a great photo, thanks for posting this.

Sorry to hear this, I thought Pete had enough lives in his stash to live to 100.

The service for Pete was today, what a great guy, there were probably 300+ people there, and everyone had a funny story, from topless dining, racing Porsches. I learned a lot about Pete, it was clear today that he will be missed by a lot of people.

Terrible news. Always enjoyed talking with the guy when I saw him at Lime Rock. He was intense and fun to photograph.
My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

I just now read this thread.

    I am a bit stunned.

I met Pete at Lime Rock, 4 or 5 yrs ago......he was a very warm, funny and sharp guy......and man he could drive the tires off any Porsche he was in.....he really could.

Ill never forget his red 911...it was a restored car.....stunning. Sad to hear about this loss........he will be missed.
