    Fuel Filter Dilemma

Hello all...I have a 69T with original webers. Fuel filter has been getting pretty grungy and hasn't be changed in awhile so I bought the part off Pelican and swapped it in. Made sure to tighten hose clamps back up, kept lid open, went and turned ignition to 1 and let the fuel pump go. The filter filled up, no leaks, nothing amiss. Went and started the car, fired up and went back to the engine to re-examine. Everywhere around the filter was dry but by the passenger's carb, on the cylinder farthest back (closest to the bumper), fuel was dripping from where the line meets the carb. I immediately turned the car off and a slow drip continued. Kept rags underneath to catch the excess fuel and make sure it didn't spatter everywhere. The rubber line was a bit saturated where it meets the input into the carb which I thought was odd...have never seen this before and am wondering if it could be related to replacing the filter? Car has sat for about a week (usually gets out once a week) and nothing else has been tinkered on in the engine recently. The hose clamp at the point was able to be tightened a bit further so I did that and am now wondering what next....my mechanical ability is not advanced by any degree, so I am wondering if I should let sit and air out for 24 hours, and re-test, or if I should just trailer it up to my mechanic and have him inspect/replace the lines at that spot....

I would love to be able to remedy this myself but the last thing I want is an engine fire...so please fire away with any suggestions!

    Just replace the lines yourself.

Simply moving the line around can make old hoses crack, then leak.

Post a photo of your clamps, some times PO's fit the wrong style of clamp, and as you tighten then, you're actually cutting into the hose. The correct style of clamp to use in these situations is the Norma clamp.

Don't run the engine until you get it sorted, just check it as you have.
