    D.A. on Craig's List

My cousin, who is a lifetime member of the relatively unknown club of old-ass Mercedes diesel owners, placed an add in Craig's List recently.

He stated that the 300SD he was selling wasn't running and would need towing. It's a project car. He is asking a modest sum for
a solid car that will need some work. Not a basket case by any means. I rode in it last year and it's nice car. The engine just isn't very happy.

Here is a excerpt from the ad:

300SD Currently does not run, but has value in parts for the right person who can store it and sell, or a mechanic who can work and get it running.Lots of new engine parts, body is in good condition. New rims, good tires, New AC compressor, new timing chain. Car has sliding roof that works, rear headrests and paint is in good shape. Come take a look. You'll need to tow it.

His 1st response was apparently from General Dumb Ass, high commander of Army of the Illiterate.

"Why does the car need to be towed?".

He kindly replied that: "It needs towing because it doesn't run." (Not heard from since.)

Is this yet another product of our education system? BTW; he lives in an affluent area of D.C. but that doesn't mean he isn't surrounded by knuckleheads.
In fact there are 500+ fairly close to him.
