    '68 911 Temporary Insurance Help

Hello everyone, this is my first post so please go easy on me!
I am finalising the purchase of a 68 911 that is in Ontario. I live in Manchester England and was hoping to fly out pay for the car and then drive it down to Newark for Shipping back to the UK.
I am struggling to get auto insurance as I am a non US resident and a non Canadian resident. All the companies have spoken to so far say I cant do what I'm trying to do.
Does anyone know a good insurance company or broker that may be able to help.
I only need cover for 1 week.
    Thanks for any help
    Alistair

Why not insure it with your own insurance in the U.K., get a transit here to move the car. Where in Ontario are you buying from, it may be easier to ship from Toronto or Montreal.

All UK insurance companies I have tried say they can't insure a car unless it's in Europe. Seems crazy to me but thats what I'm being told. The car is near to Toronto and I had briefly looked at shipping from Canada. A shipping company
I had been recommended really prefered to ship from Newark. So I should rephrase my questions to include: Can anybody recommend a good auto shipper in Canada?

Try Hagerty Collector car insurance. They may have a policy to meet your needs.

So it's a no go with Hagerty. If anyone has any other suggestions they would be gladly accepted.

I think you need to purchase 1 year policy then make payment for first installment like maybe 1 month, when car makes it back home to UK cancel existing policy and replace with new one in UK.

Thanks for all the advise so far. Any insurance is proving tricky at the moment. I have 1 option left which if doesn't work out I think I will ship the car from Canada. Does anybody know any Canadian Shippers?
    Thanks

    68 insurance

Hello I think that is going to difficult in Ontario. In order to just change the ownership over for a classic car an appraisal must be done first by a certified appraiser. The appraiser will verify the value so Mr tax man can get his cut before the change. I can give you an appraiser's information if you want to send me a pm. He may be able to help with the insurance as well as he also does appraisals for an insurance company and is experienced with Porsche cars. I think I know of the car you are talking about north of Toronto.
    Good Luck
