    WTB: 380mm RS steering wheel

    Hi guys,

I'm trying to help a friend finding the correct steering wheel for his 1973 Carrera RS. Original preferred but any idea/hint appreciated.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks a lot,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
I have a REALLY nice one with all original double wrap leather and excellent undamaged original stitching your friend will definitely want. The leather is still nice with no dry rot. Very light patina. Includes perfect horn pad, turn signal cancel ring, horn button, etc. PM me and I can send you photos and price.
Even better. I am in Munich...

Part number is 914.347.805.11 which I believe means it is originally a 914-6 wheel. Backside has the 911 cancel ring and counter sunk screws, and the wheel was until recently mounted on my 72T Targa. Here are additional pic's. Mike66 who started this thread has first dibs if he is interested.
PS Sorry for the gratuitous pic of my 72T interior

No, that was a 72 or later 914/4 wheel. A 914/6 uses a different hub, and has a different part number. There is much confusion about 380MM steering wheels.
Sorry, I don't want to rain on your parade, but this forum is a great place to get the correct info.

    Mike,

I have a 914/6 wheel that should suit your needs.
Can't remember the numbers right now but it is from a /6 not a /4, dated '70 I think.
Email me at dalpor@earthlink.net if you are interested in some pictures.
