Magnesium Wheel Clean Up/Refurbishment help needed

    Hey guys,
So I recently purchased a set of original 15x6 magnesium minilites for my SWB and had questions regarding some light resto work on them. I would like to keep the raw magnesium look, but want to clean up the surface to remove some corrosion, etc. My question is regarding how to do this in the least invasive way possible. I want to remove as little of the wheel material as possible, but get the other surface impurities off. Would you use a very fine bead and blast them, use very fine steel wool, etc.? If anyone here has experience and therefore recommendations in doing this sort of thing to any type of magnesium wheel such as these, mahle gasburners, torq thrusts, etc. I would greatly appreciate it!

I used this stuff on my sports racer's vintage magnesium parts. Made it a little duller/darker, but kept it from corroding further.

I would use plastic media or walnut shell. It will take off scale and surface corrosion but will not affect surface like glass bead or sand. Then light penetrating oil or the Gibbs stuff. Gled

    Try GIBBS cleaner
