I've had many tool bags, but my 1st 68 ES in red. Spent some time cleaning it up and still think I can get a tad better. This bag has the interesting vinyl tabs at the clasp area similar to a 356C bag. Jim

Wow, never seen anything like it. Eric Linden is the one to ask.
Reportedly pulled from a 1968 911. The thing that amazes me about these tool bags is there resilience to last and clean up nicely. I recently took a gray 356C bag that if you saw it you would swear it's 'finished' and within a few hours took in to near concours condition. Jim

Because this bag came out of a 68 does that make it a 68 bag?
I tend to believe that 911/912 bags are two tone (like the bags above) and have different clasps.
I look forward to the input of the 'experts' or other 911 / 912 owner w/ single tone bags and 356 clasps.

I have an original 66 911 bag that is all black fine textured vinyl. Only one color Early 911 bag I've seen before. I think there were more variations of 356C bags than 911.

Rick what is the origin of that kit / bag? What about there 'should be' a blue tracer on a PORSCHE towel? When did that stop? (the one above doesn't have the blue tracer).

I got the black bag from a guy who vintage races his 66 that was bought new by his father. That bag was original to his car. The towel and contents were put there by me, the towel is a more recent version, Id love to get one with red and blue colors but I haven't found one yet.
What have you gents found to be the best product to clean the bags? I am undertaking to clean mine (thanks Eric for the originality guidance!)
