Location of oil pressure sensor and a loose wire

    2 dumb questions:

    1) where is the oil pressure sensor located? My light is on but gauge says pressure is fine. Standing at the back of the car is it left side or right? From up top or down below?

    2) what is this wire for? I can't see anywhere for it to go. Is it related to 1) above?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Bruce.
So first, the easy one. Your oil pressure sensor is that little can with the wire on it (in your picture) just behind your thermostat.
Second, are you sure you're looking @ a low oil pressure light? Often the parking brake light, or alternator light can be mistaken for an oil pressure light.

Ummm thanks. To quote Gilda Radner .... never mind....

But, can anyone identify the second wire? It's a white light coming from the bulkhead connecting to a black. Something tells me it's not a factory wire. Could it have been part of the aftermarket AC?

Despite how sensible the gauges are in our cars, the brake system light has always seemed odd to me. It's sitting on the oil gauge right above the oil temp symbol..... certainly seems like it should have something to do with oil eh?

What year car are we looking at, 65-67 ? The yellow wire snaking around the oil breather is not original nor is the black wire in your hand, that is not a European connector on the end. From where does the wire originate?

Hi Ed- it's a 302 car from Nov '65. The black wire is joined to the yellow wire - one and the same. It snakes around and exits the far left side of the firewall. I think it must have been part of the dealer installed AC. Car runs fine and all electrical is working, so I guess I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks
