Thanks, typ901. Much appreciate the effort but a little too far gone for my purposes.

I've always seen the same. But not in this case for some reason. In your first photo, the second antenna from the right, that's what I'm seeking.

Might try Walter Odemer in Burbank. When I was a kid my father took his Uher tape deck and Telefunken radio to him for repairs

He closed his retail shop and was working over the web and phone. I'm local so I dropped my Blaupunkt Franfurt off to be overhauled. Just under $200, including parts and I was pleased with his work. I get along with him just fine, some find him brusque and difficult... he's German. I don't know if he's even still alive let alone working.

    Just a thought..

Well, the pressure is off thanks to a storm rolling into Austin and predictions of golf ball sized hail. I'm not brave enough to risk my cars under those conditions no matter how much I like the nice folks at the PCA.

So, I have some time. Which means I'm going to keep looking for a very nice antenna. Thanks to everyone who has PM's me with options but I see NOS blue tip antennas come up fairly frequently so I'm going to be patient.

    In other words... Still looking.

Guys, can we keep this thread focused on my antenna search? If someone wants to start a new thread about how to drill a hole in a fender, I think that's a fine idea. But if this thread gets highjacked into that conversation, people will tune out and that might lessen my chance of finding what I need. Thanks.

perhaps you should state your desired price range.

I'm not price sensitive. Do you have one? (fingers crossed).

Thanks to those who have responded. I'm still looking for an NOS (or very, very close) antenna if anyone has one.
