    Need help with engine number

    Trying to figure out what motor has the number 969006. Can anyone help, please?

    Photos of the serial number and type/production numbers would help. As well as pics of the engine itself.

    96XXXX is a 67S engine but the first X would only have the values 0, 1, or 2.

    Thanks Andy. Will take a closer look to confirm the number and post some pics when I get them. Also, where would I find the type/production numbers on the motor?

    Looking into the fan they are on the right side. The serial number should be upright on the "seat" for the fan housing. The type and production numbers are to the right again, above the right chain box.

    Green is where your engine number should be. Red is where your type and production number ought to be. The case in the picture was a factory replacement hence no stampings I believe. (Ignore the yellow arrows)

    If it were a 67S engine, the engine number would be facing the rear, in plain view, not facing to the right like all mag case engines.
