Installing oil cooler system - use rivet nuts or welded in threaded studs?

    Hi

I am in the process of restoring a -70T and will install dual oil coolers. The car is currently bare metal and before it goes to paint I want to decide how to mount the oil coolers and pipes. The later 911s use threaded studs which are welded to the rocker panel. Elephant Racing's after market kits use rivet nuts to hold the brackets for the coolers.

What would you recommend I use - rivet nuts or welded in threaded studs/brackets? Pros / cons?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Johan

I will go see it once all the bodywork is done, right before it goes to paint. This should hopefully be in 2-4 weeks. After that I can promise you some pictures

Here's how I did mine, a 6 X 1.00 weld nut, and install with a plastic spacer so you don't deform the pipe bracket.
