    1968-69 911T/R race cars?

Does anyone know anything about the 2.0-liter 911T race cars that were factory-built during 1968 and 1969 for use in SCCA, Trans-Am and other American and European race series? These cars are occasionally referred to as 911T/R's (the R for Rennsport), though I don't believe this was factory nomenclature. In 1970, they were effectively supplanted by the 911 ST's.
