Found out that the weight of the SCRS is 960Kgs - the cylinder heads are from 935.

    Xavier,

The Rothmans cars were heavily modified for rally. The engines were not changed much but chassis and suspension was really re-worked for group B. The cars had aluminum roll cages but we're not allowed to be tied (in too many places) to the body...so chassis reinforcement was done elsewhere. For example, the front inner fender wells were 'doubled' up in places...in other words, two layers. Chassis was completely seam welded.

Brakes and suspension was 911 Turbo, but with Bilstein coil-overs. The suspension also had droop limiting cables attached for the serious jumps.

Another cool modification was they notched the shifter tunnel area where the coupler is and attached a nylon strap to the engine and rear shock cross-member. This allowed changing the transmission without removing the engine, as they did have some trouble with gear boxes in rally.

This is about all I can remember, this was about 15 years ago...

    Best,
    Aaron

John Espisito is building a very nice SC/RS replica. The build can be seen in the General Forum on this S registry. The thread is titled "A 911 for me". John is a wonderful body man...... I believe his power train choice will be more modern and comfort based.

Aaron, the car pictured is not an SCRS, it is a 911 SC in Rothmans livery, owned and driven by Adrian Kermode. A nice quick car, but not an SCRS
