    Aluminum engine mystery

    I have a complete engine that a early S distributor;what are the chances that the rest of the engine has been converted to S internals?

    You can't be serious Cliff. How could anyone possibly know the answer to that question?
    A distributor takes 5 minutes to install so it could have been done as a stand alone upgrade.
    Remove a chain housing cover and see if it has S cams. That would be the quickest way to help answer your question.

    BTW: What's eng #?

    903256..I`ll take a look at the cams someday.Don`t the pistons have to be S to work with the distributor along with the cams?...........Cliff

    I'd check the cam timing, too. You never know where a re-grind may be found...
