    Coil Issue?

What are the signs that the coil is going bad?

I don't think they 'go bad.' They either work or don't.

They often get flakey only when hot, so loss of spark, massive misfire, or no running when really warmed up

    As a supplement:

The CD box is more prone to produce these symptoms when hot than the coil; however, most often it's the "not running" symptom.

And, I've seen more bad CD boxes than I've seen bad black Bosch coils ... the silver Bosch coils are another matter altogether.

I agree with Marco... original black coils have VERY long life cycles........

Although I do keep a spare in the car.......
