Edit needed to a new owner's signature. I'll let him fill in the details.

    Congrats.

.....much more exclusive than the 232 congregation. About 220 more exclusive infact......It's only taken me 21 years of collecting data on RHD '65s that I can say this with some authority......soon to be published for all.

    RHD 65's are our '64 232 Club.

Thanks Stew, my first trip into the SWB world!

Now all I need to do is get it out of your garage and into mine, a mere 1400kms...

Finding the rare and special cars is just one of the true joys of these old cars. This is way cool.

    Good going, guys.

Thanks guys, been looking for a SWB for a while and am a bit of a sucker for Aussie delivered cars - finding a 65 is just icing on the cake.

A previous owner tried to tizz it up as a 67S but that is pretty easy to undo. Could have been worse, he could have gone 80's widebody in resale red like everyone else...

    Nice buy.
It is possible that whilst not as elite the Australian delivered 1965 912 club may be even smaller in number?

    Interesting Chris,

As a rule the 912 outsold the 911 as they were literally about half the price.......not sure about the Aus experience though. Selling 8 x 912's in '65 would almost double what they sold of 911s.....

    Cheers

I guess I'm just thinking 911 production started in September '64 whereas 912 didn't start until April '65, and cars aren't considered to be a '65 model if they were made after September of 1965 so that leaves the smallest of windows.
Just my spin on it, apologies for hijacking.
