    Spare chrome wheel in a swb?

    Is the spare wheel in a swb car that comes optioned with chrome wheels chrome or just painted steel?

    FWIW, my '66 912 came with the optional chrome wheels, and the spare is also chrome. all have matching date stamps. pretty certain the elderly german woman that owned it didn't go to thesamba or hershey to find a matched wheel :-).
